I forgot my pattern

1. On the unlock screen, tap Forgot your pattern? Use recovery phrase.
2. Type your 12 words. You can paste all of them at once.
3. Draw a new pattern and confirm it.

We can't reset your pattern for you. Without the pattern or the 12 words, nobody can open the vault.

Too many wrong attempts

After 4 wrong patterns, Lockar makes you wait: 30 seconds, then 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 1 hour for each further miss. Changing your phone's clock doesn't skip the wait. If you're unsure of the pattern, use your 12 words instead.

Back up your vault

1. Open your vault and tap •••, then Back up vault.
2. Choose where to save the .lockar file: Google Drive, another app, or a folder on your phone.

The backup stays encrypted. Make a new one after adding important files, because a backup only contains what was in the vault when you made it.

Move to a new phone

1. Make a backup on your old phone, and check that it's somewhere your new phone can reach, like Google Drive.
2. Install Lockar on the new phone and tap Restore from a backup on the welcome screen.
3. Pick the .lockar file, type your 12 words and draw a new pattern.

I deleted photos from my gallery, but they still show up

Your gallery may keep deleted items in its recycle bin for up to 30 days, and Google Photos may still have backed-up copies. Empty the recycle bin and check Google Photos to remove them completely.

Subscriptions and purchases

• Cancel: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions and Subscriptions. Or go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
• New phone: open the upgrade screen in Lockar and tap Restore purchases, using the same Google account you paid with.
• Refunds: these are handled by Google Play.
